ABOUT THIS BOOK
Anatomy of a vision –
Systems Equilibrium Theory as a General
Theory
of Cancer Management, Alain
Amzallag, M.Sc.
Fondation littéraire Fleur de Lys
The
origins of the author’s vision lie in the 24
years prior and including his first manic
episode in the spring of 1974. The author
undoubtedly inherited several genes on
various chromosomes which dictated via
interactive mechanisms (differential gene
penetrance) the biochemical and neurological
unfolding of his medical condition, i.e.;
Bipolar Affective disorder, Type 1.
Having
acquired through the expression of pertinent
genes a bright and super sensitive nature,
the author was obsessed with ‘finding a cure
for cancer’ since the tender age of
thirteen.
In 1970,
the author moves to Manhattan in order to
perfect his already extensive cancer related
studies. At age 24, he underwent a
devastating love betrayal, leading him to a
deep and major clinical depression in the
fall of 1973. Emerging from this depression,
in the Spring of 1974, the author’s mood was
raised dramatically and started to
concentrate with the work at hand, namely:
coming to grips and finding a solution to
the cancer problem. These are the
situational factors and premises leading to
the conception of the “Systemic
Equilibrium Theory” which in turn is the
fundamental basis for the “General Theory
of Cancer Management & other Chronic
Diseases”.
In 2005, a
sketch of the ‘Systemic Equilibrium Theory’
as well as ‘Theoretical & Practical Notions
of Cancer Immunotherapy’ was enunciated in
the author’s first book. Later, in 2009, the
author published in French more extensive
description of these theories in: “Bipolarité
& Cancérologie” “Défis & Espoirs”.
Now, in 2010, the author attempts to
describe comprehensively the initial stages
of his bipolarity and how these led to a
visionary role (1974) in discovering and
elaborating to the fullest these two
theories.
This book
will provide the reader with understandable
yet extensive insights, addressed to both
the laypersons and the professionals, on the
causes and mechanisms of cancer development.
It also offers various protocols to prevent
and combat cancer along with other chronic
diseases.

Introduction
Born in 1949 in
Casablanca, Morocco, the author, Alain
Amzallag, decided in the early 1960’s that
he would become a scientist, and he set his
sights on finding a cure for cancer. Prior
to his university career, Alain studied
science and medicine so as to prepare
himself to achieve this goal. In 1970, when
he was 21 years old, he entered a Ph.D.
program at the Cornell University Graduate
School of Medical Sciences / Sloan-Kettering
Division, in Manhattan. Despite distractions
of social nature, (chess, bridge and
volleyball) Alain studied hard and with
determination. There, he undertook several
projects in Immunogenetics with success.
Following an unfortunate
love betrayal, he slipped into a major
depression, leading him to a deep clinical
depression in the fall of 1973. Once the
depression was over, his mood was buoyant
and, in the spring of 1974, he undertook a
72-hour work session, accompanied with sleep
and food deprivation, during which he worked
on a theoretical approach to cancer therapy.
During his retreat in the dormitory room, he
had a vision. This vision provided him with
an integrated comprehension of the
immunological aspect of cancer and other
chronic diseases. Towards the end of the
vision, the author lost contact with reality
and was subsequently hospitalized and
diagnosed as having had an acute schizoid
episode.
In 2005, he sketched out
the premises of his systems equilibrium
theory as well as theoretical and practical
notions of cancer immunotherapy in his first
book. Later, in 2009, the author published,
in French, a more extensive description of
these theories in “Bipolarité &
Cancérologie” “Défis et Espoirs”
As the vision took place
in 1974 , in a context ‘flavoured’ by mental
illness, he delved to some extent into the
concept of type-1 bipolar disorder and the
role it played in developing his two
theories namely; Systems equilibrium
theory and General theory of cancer
management. Throughout the years, Alain
influenced the scientific and clinical
research communities with his revolutionary
discoveries as will be described in this
essay. The author foresees that with the
insights stemming from this book hope will
be generated for cancer patients. The
general population will probably be
additionally be spurred to support in
several ways cancer research and related
endeavours.

all of us, together.” – Terry Fox
